Autumn Term

This term, Dosbarth Palm have been working on their number recognition and place value. This includes looking at missing numbers, number order, tens and ones, one more/ less than and greater than/ less than. 

Big Maths

Big Maths is the new programme we are following to improve numeracy skills throughout the school. 

During this term, children will take part in a CLIC test, a test designed to work out where any gaps in numeracy may be. Each week, children will have CLIC sessions Monday - Thursday with a CLIC test on Fridays to determine if children are able to move up. CLIC tests provide an all round approach to numeracy knowledge and children must score 10/10 on their CLIC test three weeks in a row to be able to move onto the next CLIC group. 

Helping At Home

Each child has their own login for Ed Shed and Numbots that were sent home at the beginning of the school year. These are a good way to practice and help your child with their numeracy skills at home, using fun games to reinforce what they are learning in class.
