The Healthy Heroes are a pupil voice group made up of our Sports Ambassadors and supported by Miss Davies. Their mission is to help everyone in our school feel healthy, happy and active. They want to promote healthy eating, support positive mental health, and encourage children to stay active through sport and play. They lead by example, listen to others, and help make Cwmbach Church in Wales a school where everyone feels safe, supported and ready to learn. This year, they will be launching a new ‘HAPPEN’ survey, encouraging everyone to try healthy snacks during ‘Snack‑tember’, and exploring what makes a healthy packed lunch.
🏃♀️ TCS London Mini Marathon🏃♂️
We are so proud that our whole school took part in the TCS London Mini Marathon, completing an incredible 2 miles together!
This links perfectly to our “Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds” topic. It was fantastic to see everyone involved, from Pre-Nursery to Year 6, all taking part with big smiles and great energy.
A huge well done to all our pupils for their effort and for helping us win a school trophy too!
Da iawn, you should be very proud of yourselves.

“The Daily Mile” is coming to
Cwmbach Church in Wales Primary
We’re excited to introduce “The Daily Mile” to our school community. Our aim is simple, to help children move more, feel better, and stay active in a fun, low pressure way that everyone can join in with. For 15 minutes, at least three times a week, the children will be encouraged to walk together outdoors.
“The Daily Mile” was created by teachers for the benefit of children everywhere, in response to the growing health challenges young people face today. Research consistently shows that regular exercise boosts children’s ability to learn, concentrate, and retain information, helping them to feel more focused and ready to learn throughout the day. Walking together helps children build healthy habits, boosts mood and focus, and supports their physical and emotional wellbeing.
Our wonderful Healthy Heroes will be championing “The Daily Mile” across the school. They will encourage their peers, celebrate everyone’s achievements, and help Miss Davies log the steps and miles we complete together.
We can’t wait to see how far we go together.
Our Sports Ambassadors have been busy inspiring others to get moving! They asked pupils in Years 5 and 6 to use AI creatively to design eye‑catching Daily Mile posters. These posters are helping to spread the message that we are a proud Daily Mile school, encouraging everyone to be active every day and celebrate the importance of physical activity for our health and wellbeing.
We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Sport RCT, alongside a selected group of parents and pupils two of which are our Sports Ambassadors. The aim of the project is to bring families together and support both physical activity and positive mental health.
As part of the project, adults and children have been given Fitbits and will meet weekly for workshops and fun fitness sessions led by Sport RCT coaches. These sessions will focus not only on getting more active, but also on building confidence, improving wellbeing, and enjoying time together as a family. As you can see its been very successful so far.
We’re really looking forward to seeing everyone’s progress good luck, and remember…every step counts 👟
