Children's Mental Health Week

We discussed the importance of looking after our mental health and ways in which we can do this. Children discussed and sorted things that they thought would have a positive impact on their mental health and those which they thought may be negative. They made connections with one another based on things that they like and found that they are all connected in one way or another.

World Mental Health Day

We learnt about the DPJ Foundation. The DPJ Foundation was set up by Mrs Piper's friend in July 2016 in Pembrokeshire, supporting those in the agricultural sector. The mental health farming charity has grown and covers the whole of Wales with all areas of support. The DPJ Foundation works with leading organisations in agriculture including NFU Cymru, FUW, YFC, vets and Welsh Government to help provide an accessible and flexible service.

We read one of their new books which have been written to help children deal with the death of a loved one. We have learnt to empathise with people around us who have lost people close to them and learnt how to help deal with our own emotions if we have experienced loss.
